Excellent voucher day ...

I went to Tesco today and bought £72 worth of things, mainly clothes but a couple of bottles of cava too (our wedding anniversary tomorrow) :j and some soup and washing powder (both needed, but for the extra money points that came with the mailing).
Handed over loads of CLOTHES money off coupons (mixtures of all sorts including the blue vouchers that were mailed out and the brown vouchers that were from the store, they DO ALL WORK IN CONJUNCTION if you work it out correctly) plus a £7 till spit receipt for a £70 spend plus about £10 other vouchers.
Total came to £2.25.
Well pleased with that. The cashier was too and congratulated me!
Don't give up hope moneysavers!
P.S The clothes included some excellent trousers for my hubby to wear for work. He normally buys them from M&S or the city for £100+ a go, these were £12 each. I have bought them him before and they wear well. They also wash well, so we save a fortune on dry cleaning.
I don't rate Tesco suit jackets for men, but the trousers are great for the summer, just to wear with a shirt when jackets aren't needed. Hubby now saves all his posh stuff for winter!

Great minds thinks alike felicity, I have been sorting out my clothing vouchers exactly for this purpose, and by my reckoning if I get £50 worth of clothing I can use assorted clothing vouchers, till spills and pay only £3.00 and gain a whopping 1,100 points which moneysavers is a nice sum of £44.00 to spend at MFI.
Welshy x
PS Been planning when best to do this and decided the weekend fairly early when the youngesters have been on the pop the night before. My kiddies need a few extra school uniform items so this will be a cheap way of doing it.
Congrats on your wedding anniversary tomorrow mine is on 8/9 - 16 years think I would have got less for murder !!!

Welshy, you know, I am starting to think you and I are very much alike! ie never miss a trick, never miss a bargain, understand the psychology of till operators, LOL
Don't understand where you get 1,100 points from that transaction though (thought I understood this thing thoroughly, don't tell me I have been missing a trick  !) Do you mean the double points voucher, that doesn't count with 'extra' points, but I am sure you know that.
OK, Have to admit ... you seem to be one step ahead of me if you can get that many points and that much discount on this current promotion.
Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me, tell me,
OK, am breathing funny now because I think I am missing out on something!0 -

WOW! Thank you! I got a cake!!!!
Although my hubby is the most adorable one you could come by, he just does not do cards, cakes, balloons etc. So I thank you for my lovely cake.
I did tell him this morning that I would be very disappointed tomorrow if I didn't have a card, so will have to see what turns up.
I do believe it is how you are treated all year around (very well fortunately and I couldn't have bought a better hubby, even with vouchers) and not just on a special day, but even so .... would like a lovely card with a well thought out message (gosh, sound like my Mum now!).
Anyway, I got my MSE cake, so am happy now  Lets see if I get a card tomorrow! Will report back!0 -
felicity nothing will ever live up to the wonderful anniversary present I received off hubby once it was .......................................

Now back to points, I have a double points voucher so thanks for that wasn't including it in my original post.
I have a 500 points voucher for a £20 spend on clothing = 500 points
I have 2 till spits for 250 points on back to school clothing = 500 points
I have a 100 point voucher for toddler clothing
so that is where my points come from, plus another 50 for the original clothes purchase so now 1,150 - Welshy x
ps yes we are too alike - waiting for coupon-mad to join in soon tooI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL
