Sometimes the cheap ones are false economy as you end up using far more as they don't contain smells as well and the cats get fussy.

I use the wood pellet one as well,no smell from it & if you put the litter tray in a large, sturdy cardboard box, then no paw prints!

I use the Tesco value one as well, it's excellent. During the snow I couldn't get to Tesco very easily, so I went to Morrisons (further away but next to a bus stop) and got their equivalent and the cat hated it! She started crying and wee'd on the carpet.

you have to weigh up initial cost v quality. I mix Liddles/Adlies clay with Otto's cats best.

I use the tesco value too, it lasts me 2 weeks, so it's about £4 a month.

I buy a big bag of sawdust from Jollies for about £6 and use that daily. Doesn't smell if cleaned everyday and noesn't end up all over the place. I have 3 cats and the litter trays (2) are kept in the outhouse although tbh they don;t smell and I don;t think it would make a difference if they were in the house, would probably do them twice a day then.

we use sainsburys wood pellets for our little kitty who is 10 weeks old. She gets on well with it and even likes to play with the whole pellets if she manages to scoop out a whole one on to the laminate flooring :)

  • To avoid dusty paw prints, I bought a mat which is placed just under the front of the litter tray, so when my kitty is finished, the first place she stands on is the mat. However, I do have a hooded litter tray, so may not work so well with a regular open tray.

I normally get the catscan litter, but never had none in store, so opted for the tesco low dust cat litter, our cat has been fine with the change over, and as its been said, it does the job :)
