If I recall correctly, the picture loan states that a principal sum of £25,000 would be repaid as £42,000
"How much would that be a month? THATS GREAT!!!"

I used to hate the old TSB(?) loan ad; "swelling your account to just the right amount..."
Are these ad agencies for real?!!!
I like the Nationwide "brand new customers only" ads because it really shows the banks for what they are.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
Oh my! I have exactly the same conversation with my flatmate when those loopy adverts pop up. They do my nut in... especially the one with the guy with the messy house and then goes into his garden and his neighbour tells him about the fab loan he has with purple or picture... as they make there way to the football in their matching scarfs!
I too fantasize the wife lamping the guy, especially when he make the wise crack about 'it being one less job for her to do!!!'. 25K - a pi$$ in the ocean... NOT!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Whoever wrote that script should be shot! :rotfl:

I've got an idea! Take that bleedin' video camera upstairs and record a session of hows your father, then sell copies down the market and you won't need a sodding loan!

Now if someone had the balls to do a loan commercial featuring hard core !!!!!!, they would have my undying respect
but probably still not my custom!0 -
You know, if I was married to the moron in the Picture Loans ad, I'd be persuading him to take a loan for twice as much.
To pay for the divorce I was just about to ask him for. What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -

Yep, I'm with you - they're infuriating and I don't understand why they're allowed to advertise virtually no valid information.
I had an amusing opportunity to get a dig in about HSBC this evening when completing an online survey. Was asked what I remembered about their adverts (something about Chinese people replenishing empty bowls came to mind ...), then asked what message HSBC was getting across, so said it appeared that they haven't anything positive to say about their products, so were trying to digress onto topics with no financial relevance, such as their knowledge of foreign cultures - not surprising since they're the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
Debt free success date: 14.8.2006 :j0
