House alarm acting strange.

How can a car alarm which is all internally wired use a radio frequency?

Your house must be like a totalitarian state with censors in every room. Is it because you write subversive material or because you try to read it?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. There are so many different devices on the same frequency (generally 434Mhz) now - wireless mice, video senders (for CCTV and "use your Sky in another room" things), central looking, house alarms, wireless energy monitors, wireless thermometers and weather stations, remote switching sockets, remote control toys... it goes on. A lot of these are badly designed and send out signals that cause problems on other systems.
Can I ask what make/model the alarm is? "Anti-jamming" or jamming/interference indicators is often just a received signal strength indicator, and they won't show anything unless it's a pretty cack handed attempt at actively jamming the alarm.0 -

It's a FM8000.0 -
I think they are pretty good, if a little old. They use a lower frequency (not 434Mhz), which means there is a lot less contention. Sorry that doesn't help much.
Unfortunately, like most alarm companies, they don't provide any manuals online to give any assistance.0 -
One thing with nearly all alarms that it is worth checking is the battery in the panel. Sometimes they do behave funny when it gets old. Normally only about £15 to get a replacement, and easy to fit.0

I had the system put in the house about 15 years ago, I wasn't aware there was a battery in the panel, and yes it's true there is no manuel with it so I'm not sure how I would find out what sort of battery it would require without calling the installer out who charges £25 to come out and tell you what it needs and then another callout charge when he comes back with the battery. The last time I called them was to say I needed a new remote, but he came out and charged me the £25 call out fee to tell me I needed a new remote control which was what I had already told him and new this to be correct because I had accidently put it through a wash in the washing machine. Very reluctant to have to get in touch with them again, you know once bitten twice shy!0
