Sky upgrade advice please

Hi

Mum in law currently has Standard Sky box and wants to upgrade to Sky+ box.

How much will it cost her to upgrade?

We have a spare Sky+ box which we got from someone off Freecycle, can she just have this Sky+ box installed cheaper (assuming she cant just easily switch the boxes over)?

Any offers on at moment as she is asking how much it would cost for simple upgrade.

Thanks :)

old sky box has a single cable from the dish and probably only a single feed LNB on the dish. Sky plus needs two feeds so suspect you need to run a 2nd cable and change the LNB

Sky+ subs were dropped for anyone with a Sky sub years ago. I'm assuming the OP has a Sky sub?

She'll pay an extra £10 a month for the second subscription as long as BOTH Sky box's are connected to a phoneline. If not,it's full price for the second box!

I was assuming she was going to swap the Sky box for a Sky+ box rather than use multiroom. But perhaps not.

Hi yes she has a Sky subscription and she is simply swapping a standard Sky box to a Sky+ box, dosnt need Multiroom as lives alone.

We dont live close to her to pop over and DIY but she has acquired a Sky+ box via a friend (all works) how much would Sky charge to callout and fit it for her? Website only quotes for new customers from what I can see.

    Thanks

Doubtful Sky would do it as they're not supplying the kit, best to ring them tho to check. You can get the Quad LNB's cheap enough:
