Imagine trying to tell the council that the car wasn't yours...LOL
As amusing as the story sounds I'm sure the bomb would drop once the they received the V5.
  • do nothing carry on with parking in your normal spot when you can, at least youd know it will be safe with the one woman neighbourhood watch lady looking over it for you!

I don't the whole story but is it really that bad?It sounds like the road was a single track lane before the houses were built, so they bought the part of the road that was widened when the houses were built so they have a guarenteed spot.
Maybe they don't like playing parking lottery when they get home from work?Personally, when we were looking for a house a garage and parking space were a must. There was no way I wanted the hassle of fighting for a space when I got home from work.

Do they not have drives or garages?

Sue it would, but a week parked on a London street being ticketed is a very long time... ;)

Wait a few years while their cheap inch thick tarmac job starts to sink and they all argue with each other when no-one wants to part with any of their cash to get it re-done.

Well the tarmac cowboys have "finished", leaving a complete mess, so the "residents" have spent today (the hottest day of the year I believe?) sweeping up (still looks a mess) and ineffectually using a sledgehammer to do something or other with the curb...while shuffling their cars strategically :rotfl: Karma maybe.

They all have drives and garages. Until now I have very rarely seen one of them park out on the street, and to be honest, it's never completely full out there.

The main issue for us, and the other neighbours tbh is visitors.
