Could you give guests your bed and you rough it on the floor with an airbed?

Yes, certainly in the case of my elderly mother, that's actually what I do, or when couples come etc, but I suppose when grandchildren stay I don't really want them to feel I've shoved them in an odd corner, I always try to put posters up and do the room as much as possible as if it's 'theirs' and hide work stuff away somewhere - in fact that room is known by my grandson's name. I also have a big sofa downstairs that I sleep on if I have several come at once.

The other person who stays sometimes is my ex - and I don't want him feeling too comfortable, he might want to move back in again - no thanks!!!!

Loved the wall bed though, and I'm certainly leaning towards one of the highup airbed ideas at the moment, I had originally been thinking of a folding metal one, I'm sure we used to call them Zbeds, but some of the reviews aren't too good.

Thanks for all the ideas, isn't this a brilliant forum?

We bought a Queen size, double height airbed with built in pump for £51 delivered from eBay new. If size is an issue, then you could shrink to single, but i dont think its worth it. As we just arrange things to make enough space now.

    To use it

Inflate - Plug it in, turn it on, 3 mins later its blown up, turn the valve to off, turn it off & stow the plug.

Deflate - Plug it in, turn the valve, turn pump on, roll up :)

An older model, but to give you an idea of the height. Its wide enough for my sister & husband to stay on it for 10 days without back pain.

Thanks - can I just ask, I have visions of someone sitting on the edge and collapsing to the floor, or lying on the edge and collapsing onto the floor - are these newer high airbeds really rigid and supportive enough?

As an 'older woman' (humph) and having slept on both for several weeks, I'd rather sleep on a zed bed (which Argos still sell) than an airbed.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
