Nokia N8 anygood...?

I'm due an upgrade soon and my last two phones have been SE's after a long spell with Nokia's. - I had FIVE brand new N95's in 6 months as that put me off them!

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut I like the look of the new Nokia N8 and I'm thinking if this could possibly be THEE phone to switch me back to Nokia's...

Depends on how good Symbain 3 is going to be!

It looks amazing, but its up against the likes of the HTC Desire and the new iPhone 4 (although it looks like it'll be a lot cheaper than Apple's new offering).

It not due for months, so could be looking old by the time it gets here ??

I've read in places that its out in the UK July time? Must admit I didn't carry on reading to see if it was 2010 or 2011...

I'm not keen on the iPhones to be honest.

Out of interest, did you check for software upgrades to the N95s with the Nokia software updater? I have an N95 and the old software it came with was terrible but was far better after the upgrade. Even some of the new phones sold now still contain out of date software.

As for the N8, the phone itself looks good however I think I will avoid it because it is Symbian. Compared to Android or the iPhone there aren't many people developing for it. I am looking forward to the next Maemo/Meego Nokia phone though

The faults on my N95's were mechanical faults and not software related.

The Nokia N8 will be out mid October.
The new s3 symbian o.s. is very good according to reports.
There were plenty of good reviews from NokiaWorld London last week.
In my opinion well worth waiting for. cheers FW
