Out of curiosity, how can you tell? Do just the numbers keep changing or something?
  • Well, I'm no expert, but as a fellow JSer I think you'll probably be safe, as long as you've got proof of the interview.

Did the advisor on the phone tell you a specific time to go the jobcentre? If not you can't really be blamed for not arriving on time/missing your sign on.

And even if you do end up losing money for missing it, it'll only be a weeks worth of claim, and since JSA is paid 2 weeks in arrears, it wouldn't be til July that you'd miss your payment.

(good luck with the job BTW!)

    Hey and thanks.

But yh, i actually phoned the interviewing company and asked for them to post me a letter as i told them itd clash with my sign-on time,
so have the letter as proof. :o

I feel i messed the interview up badly as i needed to wee really badly,
almost fell over the desk when i walked in and endedup kinda bending over it,
and spend most of the interview babbling away irrelevant stuff! :(:(

Although the interviewer did say a few nice things to me that i could tell were genuine, and did seem to like me.

Il findout by tomorrow if i got it, would be extremely surprised if i did though.

Why didnt you go from the interview straight to the JC to sign on, thats what most people would have done?

I wouldve as the bus went past JC, but i didnt have my sign-on book with me as i had no room in my pockets to carry it to the interview.

I could, but i just can't be bothered to though.

You clearly are an oddball, and appear to have an extremely sad crappy life as you spend all your evenings on an internet forum memorising every other persons' style of writing!:rotfl:

Ive seen theres quite alot of you paranoid freaks on this site though accusing atleast someone in every thread of being something bad,
so i just don't bother rising to it.

Im not sure what is trollish about asking what happens when an interview clashes with a sign-on though?

    Hardly a 'provocative' subject,
someone going to an interview which they don't get back home from till the late afternoon. LOL

Its not like im trying to avoid going to the JC or anything,
i get money by going there and so have no reasons to want to avoid going there, and i haven't even hinted in my post that im trying to get advice on how i can avoid going there.

Thanks for the tips and advice poster number 2 though.. :o

Il give them a call monday morning and just say ''i didnt get back till late when jobcentre was closed, but i can pop in today to show you the letter proving i had an interview''.
Doubt theres any way they can give you any kind of negative penalty for that.
