Going to Ratagan in the Highlands, but not until August (I like planning ahead!). Will report back. Currently looking for a night in the North Lakes on the way up and South Lakes on the way back.

Well - we made it. For moneysaving and convenience we used the Premier Inn at Killington Lakes both ways. It was about 6-7 hours on the way and 8-9 hours back. Was much better than we expected from a motorway site and Kendal was about 15 minutes away.

I did check other sites around the Lakes, but couldn't either a decent price or availability.
