I don't have the TT500, but it sounds like it doesn't like what's on the sd card. Have a look here and see what it has to say. My feeling is that the card's full and so didn't update correctly, but it really is a guess. I doubt your TT is knackered though, you just need to update it properly or use the software that came with it?0

Well, my thoughts are that it doesn't work now so what have you got to lose? Do these things come with a disc or anything? I've got TomTom for my pocket PC so not really familiar with your set up. This is a great site; http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/
Sorry I can't be of much more help. Someone will sort it out soon enough..........0 -

Format the card, or copy info from OH's card to yours using your card reader?0

all tomtoms always crash.... dodgy software in the unit!
normally fixed by pressing the reset button under neath where the mount clicks in.
get loads of the 300/500/510/910 back at work and all we do is press the reset and send them on their way lol0 -
how do i format the card
or copy info from hubbys card

Format;
Plug card into card reader and reader into computer.
Right click my computer, click manage, then go to disk management & format it from there.0
