No Digital Channels found

Hi All,
I have recently purchased a TV for my new house and the autotuner does not pick up any digital channels. I have the analogue ones but no DTV. The TV is an LG with built-in Freeview.
I've tried tuning the TV in different rooms and still no success. My antenna/aerial is in the loft - fixed on the floor.
Any ideas to what i can do to troubleshoot further?
Thanks
S.

Hi
Assuming you haven't got another TV to try you have a couple of options:- try your new TV in a neighbours or friends house
- borrow another TV and try in your house
Unless you are in an excellent reception area, indoor (loft) aerials are not usually any good for digital reception.

I'd say the aerial too, analague signals are a lot easier to pick up than digital ones, maybe an aerial on the roof would help?If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

thanks for your reply philbostavros.
the analogue channels are weak, very fuzzy actually.
I will try another TV from a mate and try my TV in his house.
Is there an alternative to using an aerial? If digital channels are not good with aerials what do I use instead?
Thank

The only real alternative is Freesat but obviously needs a new installation (dish, digibox etc) - unless you have cable TV in your area.
Better to get your aerial looked at or as suggested, get one fitted externally.
