Item not recieved but tracking says it has?

Right after pressing the buyer to make sure she hadn't signed for anything that day she finally admitted that she had recieved an item from me but wasn't what she'd ordered.
At this point i'll hold my hands up and say i've mixed 2 parcels up, so angry with myself
But why oh why did she think she could just keep quiet about this item being recieved at all! It had my details on it so she knew i'd sent it. Thought that she could keep this wrong item, never tell me and get a replacement of the item she had ordered.
I'm now in the process of begging for forgiveness to my other customer and trying to get that item picked up. Now i have to try and get the other one back from the ever so truthfull local buyer. I have offered to go around personally tonight and swap the items as i do have some more stock. I bet she's used it too!
Is there anything else i can do to avoid getting 2 negs here? I'm such an idiot and not done anything like this since i was a new ebayer 8yrs ago but this buyer hasn't helped matters by avoiding the truth :mad:0 -
Just keep in constant contact with both buyers. That's all i can advise.
I've been in this situation myself and luckily both buyers were cooperative and the exchanges went smoothly without any hiccups. I sent the wrong items to different countries so i had to send payments via Paypal to the buyers to return the items to me, and I also sent them a little extra for their troubles.0 -
Thanks i'll more than likey refund the postage costs or something to make up for it, i still don't get why she didn't just tell me i'd sent the wrong item to her. I'm going to go and calm myself down now!

Because she's a chancer. Hopefully you're local buyer will give + fb, the other woman may not bother giving any or she may not know that you can't neg her if she doesn't sell, so may give + as she would get neg in return.0

A negative is not the end of the world.

I've got items mixed up and sent to the wrong people three times!
learnt my lesson not to sell too many things at once, just keep in contact, apologise, and refund the postage costs to send it back to you...then send the correct item.
I never recieved any neg feedback from all 6 ebayers, they were all positive, it's an innocent mistake:staradmin Live, Laugh & Love=Life :staradmin0 -

I have posted the items to the wrong addresses before, in my situation i only sell things that we dont need so i am not a business, but what i done was refund half the cost of the items they bought, and paid for the postage to send to the correct address...and it all worked out good.i guess you could do the same.....0
