Smear some toothpaste over your spots as it helps em to dry out.
Sure I've known people who swear by it!0 -
Thanks for all the tips folks.
Think it will just be a case of trying them all at different times and finding the correct remedy for me0 -
Hi
I have also been getting mild acne for a few years (esp on my forehead). I used to be on the pill and that helped but I am off it now.
I tried Zineryt which didnt really work. My friend tried Duac but my Dr wouldnt prescribe it as he said it lightens the skin (my friend is also Asian and she got it?).
I have been using organic/natural skin care hoping that will help. I have been using the OCLM (with tea tree) for two weeks and I have got lots of spots - not sure if its not working or its clearing me out.
I have just been prescribed Stiemycin only yesterday so will see how it goes.

Hi, i had this problem. I used to spend a lot of money on Dermalogica, it worked for me and usually at the places that sell they can recommend which is best for you from looking at your skin. However now I just use cream from the GP which is cheaper and works faster.0

I am in my mid twenties and has suffered with bad white spots around my chin since my teens and the only thing that i have found helps is the bodyshop tea tree line. I wash my face every morning and night with the tea tree facial wash, then i use the tea tree toner, then the mattifying moisturiser. Finally i use the tea tree night fade lotion on my acne scars. I have been using this line religioulsy for around 4 to 5 weeks and currently havent had a new breakout for around a fortnight. Also a friend recommended a dab of tea tree oil on any new pimples. Hope this helps0

I'm 26 and I've had really bad skin from the age of about 12/13 to around 4 months ago. I went to see Dr Chu at Hammersmith and he gave me N-Lite and a prescription for Isotrexin Gel. I now get on average about 1 spot a week (huge reduction considering I used to have at least 5/6 new ones appearing on a daily basis) and I'm not sure which treatment it was, but I'd be inclined to say it was the Isotrexin. I'd strongly recommend asking your GP for a script for it as it made such a difference to me. It's pretty hardcore stuff - the main ingredient being retinol - but if you can keep yourself out of the sun for a while then I believe it will make a difference. I stopped using it about 6 weeks ago and I'm still almost completely clear. I've even had a two week period where I had no spots which was just incredible. Also, if you're looking for a great cover-up make-up to see you through I'd suggest investing in Estee Lauder Maximum Cover. I have terrible scarring and PIH from the spots but you'd never know it when I'm wearing this foundation! It also doesn't break me out at all which is a major plus.Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0

You may well of already tried this but I picked up some Clearasil Ultra Face Scrub a few days ago, when I couldn't find the face wash I wanted to buy. I wasn't particularly hopeful as I used their range as a teen and didn't find it made much difference- although it did used to cause a burning sensation
The scrub has actually been really good- I had some whiteheads I just couldn't get rid of and it has already visibly smoothed and cleared my skin after just a few days. My skin is combination- very oily in some places and dry in others. It left my skin feeling really clean and it's not nearly as oily as it was, so less spots
That said I did read some awful reviews about it drying people's faces to the point it went tight, red and itchy, so definitely test on a small patch of skin first. It says use twice a day but I am only using it once a day in case it dries my skin.0 -
i have had acne since the age of 11, theyve got better as ive got older but the spots i get now are big and painful.
So i trotted to the docs really fed up of my face hurting so much and he prescribed me Zineryt and its the best thing i have ever used! its like magic! i put it on a spot and the next day its gone and dried up completely! Its basically a zinc solution which really dires them up quickly. Its quite harsh and god forbid you get it on a lip or it dribble into your mouth yuck! but my saviour! A previous poster said it didnt work for them but it really did for me!
good luck!0
