    Butti, did you meet Nick????

Yes we met him, we chatted with him, we had tea with him, I had a photo with him. I think we finally got his head round the idea of a number of random internet people with anonymous persona's meeting for the first time to work on someone's house who they also had never met!

They are all pretty much how they appear on TV.

That sounds great! the more I hang around here the more I am starting to realise that although this is all online its quite a close knit affair :)

Just noticed MSE got a world cup make over :)

I have officially decided that I am having a lazy day today, mucho coffee and feet up doing the square root of diddly squat! I got my bursary this morning, paid my board and 200 back to my dad for my car. So I have a grand total of £14 to last until the tax credits come in on Tuesday :( and I am week behind with the lads school dinners. Hey ho!

  • Afternoon everyone,

I'm grrr at the moment - won't go into it on here as it's to do with work.

Butti - glad you had a great time at Mike's. The company I work for occasionally supply vehicles to DIY SOS and everyone that's met the team say they're lovely. And enjoy the race.

Gemmzie - enjoy the pampering with your mum.

Claire - that's horrible that someone would do that.

I'm going to tkae some deep breaths to try and calm down.

On a brighter note my OH's boss is getting envolved in the whole, have I, or haven't I got the job debate? He's going to give HR a bit of his mind!

Downnotout, could you not have paid your dad a little bit less (say £150) and left yourself with enough to last you till Tuesday?

Wow that's brilliant Butti. Good luck with your Race for Life!

Suzy, she seemed totally uninterested in the whole thing and you could sort of 'feel' that if you know what I mean? I was probably expecting something more like a sports massage, but it was so lightweight that it didn't even leave me feeling relaxed.

I hate 'airy fairy' massage-it needs a good firm touch....

Now, that sounds worse than I meant it to...

I've learnt never to mention lower back problems because then they just back right off and get really airy fairy.

Proper, holistic massage is something the therapist needs to focus on. It's not a 'beauty treatment'. I 'give' a lot through touch and it can be quite draining (emotionally) sometimes too and sometimes very moving. I have had clients in tears and I have also had clients fall asleep. Both reactions are quite normal and very flattering.

The other thing about beauty salons is that the therapists are often Jack-of-all-trades and so are not properly prepared for a massage. For example, their nails are often long(ish) and painted, whereas if I am massaging, mine are cut very short. I would love a proper massage.....can't wait until I go to HK as we're going over to China for a few days where the massages there are supposed to be wonderful.....2 hours long. Bliss.
