Pool car parking fine
Comments
-
traffic warden, council i think. Am I personally liable or is my boss (as its officially the companies car)
It's really important you check the ticket - and if it's not from a Council then you and your fleet manager must ignore it because private tickets are a scam.
If it's from the Council then the owner is responsible but can then deduct the cost from wages if your contract/pool car agreement terms allow them to do so.
A few questions (if it's a genuine Council PCN) as it may be appealable:
- As King100 says, were the company aware that you had the pool car at that time?
- What's the contravention shown as?
- Can you scan or take a high-resolution photo of the PCN (both sides, all small print but minus the vehicle reg)? Maybe you can get off the fine completely if there's a flaw with the paperwork.
- Where was the contravention, on street or in a car park? Can you take pics of the lines & signs & attach pics here? Or show a Google Street View link? Maybe the lines & signs are flawed.
Final suggestion, if it's Council, you could ask the company - as the car owner - to forward an informal appeal within the 14 day period (i.e. they must receive it within 13 days counting on from the date of service of the PCN), you can write an appeal out quoting the PCN number. Use any info we can give you here about the PCN, lines & signs - but we need to see pics.
The point is that just the act of appealing on any point whatsoever will buy you the time you need to be able to pay the ticket at the discounted rate, after payday. When the Council rejects your informal appeal, they should give you a further 14 days to pay at the reduced rate then (i.e. after payday).
But at that stage then you may want to formally appeal rather than just pay up, if so then post back again. You could get off this PCN yet - let's see the pics and answers to the above Qs please.
HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I suggest you stop 'p*ssing off' your own employer by expecting them to provide you with an interest-free loan, and accept their offer.

Look forward to your replies and pictures, you may be able to get off it completely.
You are now beyond the first 14 days since service but can still informally appeal up until they serve a Notice to Owner. Appeal asap, anyway, to buy you the time you need. They'll reject your appeal I suspect but should re-offer the discounted fine as part of their rejection letter, I expect.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

MANIN =THESTREET - What is your problem
I think the problem is yours. Your employer is under no obligation to provide you with an advance on your pay. Please do tell us what your family and friends said to you when you went round with your begging bowl and your hard-luck story about not being able to pay this parking fine until payday."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Ignore the above and please reply to this, already asked, there's guidance on how to post images at the top of the forum board:

as someone who is a long standing member of the forum, and who probably offered advice previously, its a shame you've come here and acted the internet troll, Each to their own I guess.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

Troll? Get real! The OP was apparently unable to borrow this money to pay the 'fine' from his family and friends (why not?), but expected his employer to lend him the money. The employer has offered to do so, even though there was no obligation, but won't do it for free (no surprise there). Apparently, this 'attitude' from the employer 'p*ssed off' the OP, but it seems the employer has been far more accomodating than the OP's own family and friends."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
I suggest OP pays the fine. The company I work for expect you to pay should you commit any violation whilts using a pool car. If I fail to notify them, it then becomes a disciplinary matter, which can result in dismissal.0

@ maninthe street - but the OP was looking for constructive advice.
And he got it - all he had to do was any informal appeal based on anything he wanted to say in his 'defence' for the contravention. If he had posted pics of the PCN, lines and signs we could have found him a valid appeal I expect, and he may have not had to pay the fine at all.
But hopefully he did follow advice and appeal, to buy himself the time until payday. I may surprise you but not everyone has relatives/friends with spare money to lend.
And this is MSE - and on this board in particular we would almost never suggest that people 'just pay' a Council PCN without trying to appeal it. Parking tickets a re a well-known cash cow for Councils and PCNs are very often issued against regulations in some way. Some Councils are so bad at their admin that an appeal to an adjudicator almost guarantees a win (80 - 90% allowed in some areas!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
