Three contracts

Has anyone noticed that 3 no longer offer 18 month contracts, they are now only 24 months. Apparently according to c/service they no longer offer them for new contracts or upgrades.
I was offered a HTC Hero on an 18 month contract by retentions on Monday. Didn't take it but they do still offer them in some circumstances (i.e. if you say you're going to leave and refuse all their other offers).0 -
I posted about this the other day. As far as I can tell the only way of getting a 3 phone on an 18 month deal is via Carphone Warehouse and then it's only available on one tariff and twelve phones. Everything on their website is now 24 month, as you have pointed out.If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I wish I'd got an 18 month Internet Texter while I could have. 24's a *bit* too long, isn't it?
Plus I'm in my final year of uni, hoping to do a PGCE the year after, but anything could happen and I could well be stuck on the dole with a contract to pay...0 -
Im not too happy been with them for like 6 years0

Three introduced the 24mths only contracts back in April when they rebranded from "3" to "Three". The biggest waste of marketing money IMHO
Anyway, I wouldn't recommend any 24mth contracts unless the phone is really expensive and you manage to get a deal on the tariff. Some of the PAYG tariffs and SimOnly contracts actually offer better value if you're not too fussed about the handset. There are actually some decent PAYG phones out there, and with the correct combination you could better the 24mth deals.
I'm on SimOnly and will chop & change tariffs or handsets when I spot a new deal, you can't do that with a 24mth contract. Works about cheaper over the same period.0
