Help! Have I killed my Raspberry plant?!!

    Yes they should have been separated, but I wouldn't worry about it now.
    Move them in the autumn/winter, spacing about 16-18" apart and remember to shallow plant, I'd dig a hole about 3" deep.
    They will throw up lots of new canes next year, if they are in the wrong place, too many etc they pull out easily and can be moved, given to friends etc.

    I gave 2 canes to a neighbour 2 years ago, the look on his face said he thought I was being stingy.
    This year he had over 30 new canes and ended up putting them on freecycle.

    Ooh was I supposed to separate mine? I left them as they came! All a learning experience for me!

    All a learning experience for me!

    You never stop learning with gardening, even those of us that have done it for decades, there are always new growing techniques to try, new varieties to try that require a different growing conditions, new gardens with different soil types so you grow plants that you have never grown before.

    Learning something new is the fun bit, very satisfying:D
