I went to chat with a lady today that has a holistic healing practice and shop. She is a medical herbalist and I was asking her about taking iodine to help my thyroid-anyway-it turns out she too is hypothroidic and she said she has switched to a gluten free diet and since Jan her tjhyroxine has been halved and she has lost 21lbs. and she feel loads better. I am going to try it.

That's interesting.. my friend who has thyroid problems also has problems with gluten, I wonder if her thyroid improves when she sticks to her gluten free diet (which she doesn't always)..

I don't really want to go home :o

she said she has recommended it to 2 other people and they have had the same results.

It can't hurt can it? Eating a gluten free diet...

Only your bank balance a bit if you go for specialist gluten free bread/ biscuits etc.

  • Bunny a gluten free diet will be £££'s. My OH is lactose intolerant and the cost of lacto free things are pricey; especially the chocolate! The only good thing is that he's now more consious as to what he eats and has started to see the benefits.

There's nothing better than the smell of cakes baking in the oven. Now do I make scones or a chocolate cake tonight instead of studying?
  • Katsu - sorry to hear someone's given you a cold. That's not fair and the wonders of a modern office.

Will I be able to visit my baby nephew tomorrow if I have a bit of a cold? He is a few months old. Do I need to tell my SIL that I have a bit of a cold? :(

  • Katsu; I'd let your SIL know first that you've got a cold. It's a tough one in all honesty.
