Orange contract - cancelling contract

Options
Hi

I will be 12 months into my 12 month orange contract on 5th October and want to switch to O2.

1. What date should i get in contact with orange to cancel?
2. Should i ask for my PAC at that point?
3. My billing date is the 17th of the month so have i got anything to gain by staying with orange until the 16th october?

Thanks

Tony

    1. You can get in contact with Orange from 5 September onwards.
    2. Yes, you should.
    3. No, you don't have anything to gain if you're set on switching. Orange does.

1 5th of september request PAC code/ not disco request as this is diffrent

2 YES if you want to keep same number V. important

3 NO makes no diffrence whatsoever

i would as well closer your end of contract ask what orange could offer they have some cracking deals atm.. reading this board
  • Thanks for the replies, if i request my PAC on the 5th Sept and then use it BEFORE the 5th Oct what will happen? Remember my 12 month contract doesn't finish until 5th Oct.

i believe that orange only give you your pac, 5 days before your 12 month contract ends, very cheeky of then, but im not 100%, you'll have to find out.

if your contract runs out on the 5th of october, it would probobly take o2 around 5 days minimum to port your number from orange to them, therefore you 'will' have to pay the e.g. 5 days standing charge unfortunately.

    hope this helps,
    Skiddy
