Harveys Armchair sub-standard

I bought a new 4 piece suite online from Harveys in April 2010. It was delivered 5 weeks later. One of the seat cushions on an armchair was too soft such that you sank deep into the chair rather than getting any support (unlike the perfectly good other armchair, sofa and footstool). Harveys sent a new inner foam 2 weeks later but this was the same as the faulty one. I noted the "soft" ones were mint green and all the other firmer ones were plain white. Harveys say they have not changed specification and if they sent out another one it would be the same again. We tried two Clarissa suites in Harveys furniture stores before ordering (Orpington and Canterbury) and these were OK. I can demonstrate the difference in my own home, using the soft armchair soon gives you back-ache and we would not wish to keep this suite unless Harveys can fix the problem, I've written and Emailed them without success. What can I do?
Thanks

Have you went through their official complaints procedure and not received a satisfactory response/response within the allocated time?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • I used the Watchdog Email address today thanks. Fingers crossed. My original complaint went to their online address web-sales@harveys-furnishing.co.uk,

Hi you can contact the furniture ombudsman they will send out a form and i think if i remember it costs £50 for an independant report on your chair/sofa and they will also help you get what you want and also trading standards the item is faulty and under the sale of goods act can ask for a full refund or a complete new sofa, and you can also tell them you are willing to take it to the small claims court.

Id send a letter in writing by snail mail print details in bold make it look official it helps trust me and also mention you have contacted all of the above and watch them turn around but the main thing is keep mentioning sale of goods act i did this after buying a sofa from dfs they uplifted it yesterday and im waiting on my money back now
    hope this helps
