Just a few things re the questions raised since my last post:

    - The offer is now only going live in just over 80% of our regions, so if your local branch isn't offering it, there's every chance a branch in the next town is.

    - Milarky: Yes, you sign a form which authorises Halifax to instruct your employer to pay your salary into our account.

-Atlantas187 - There's been constant updates about this all day, and it links in with a future project to sweep all accounts with a view to spotting those who are simply using the account for the £5 monthly reward and those who are a 'genuine' a current account customer.

Basically, all Banking Advisors have been told that the money must be given to enhance the relationship a customer has with us. In other words we want all these customers to have a ''Main Bank Relationship''. To say that this is being closely monitored by the Central Risk Team is an understatement, so you'll find that staff will not be throwing the money at just anyone. In terms of existing current accounts - if it is apparent from looking at your recent transactions that you are simply cycling £1000 through several accounts in order to get a £5 back on each, then an advisor would have a job on their hands trying to explain why they felt it necessary reward you. If on the other hand you hold an account which is seldom used and has very little activity, then changing this will enhance the relationship you have with us. Another scenario would be those who use Halifax as a spending account, and have a household or bill payment account elsewhere. No matter how much you use the spending account, an advisor could justify giving the incentive money as transferring credits and debits will enhance the relationship (allows us to view spending patterns, levels of existing commitments, obtain a more realistic view of your 'profile', therefore allowing cross sale opportunities to be identified, etc)

Lol what is the option to press to bring you up lol very good but also a bit to much info much there but no harm to have lotes.

Also i have found out for myself i need to go to the main branch in newport isle of wight as i can't remember the password for telephone banking and the advisor thought that all the halifax Agencys had close we got one in shankilin iow and one in ryde iow that are still open.

Sounds like they are desperate for clients, no?

Thanks for the info but sorry you've lost me lol and got me even more confused:rotfl:

So basically what are u saying should I risk applying for this offer thru the branch or not?
    I have 3 halifax reward acc's 1 joint 2 single

The joint even though not my main account does have a few payments going in & out every month.
The single acc's are just used to cycle £1000 for the reward each month. No other activity takes place on these accounts.

If I took the risk would my account likely to get flagged as someone abusing the system and will they close these extra rewards accounts?

Vaporate,If the bank makes £300.00 per year on the average customer as a example, £100 is small change.
They work on volume, the average customer has no Idea what the bank costs them per year and would be very surprised I would think.

I,m not up on figures but think barclays does around 5 billion a year profit, it makes this section of the forum and the amount of people doing the incentive thing, small change, as in 1 rupee down the back of the sofa.
    They never lose.
    Others might though.

    Hi guys and gals,
I would love to have the reward account with halifax, but i applied about 6 months ago and got declined:mad:. My credit rating is not great at the moment but i earn a pretty good salary. will this increase my chances having a good salary? And also if i was to apply for it would i have more of a chance of getting accepted in the branch or over the phone? I look forward to hearing from you!
    It takes two to tango!:rotfl:

Anyone got a list of branches that are NOT doing it? Don't want to travel to my local agency branch if they aren't doing it.

I have 4 Reward accounts in my sole name, generating £240 a year.

I'll be skipping this offer and trying to remain under their radar!

Just opened one at Lewishem branch in London. Note that they are not aware of the 100 pounds, only 50 pounds. However, they are happy to give 100 pounds.

The 100 credit will only be provided once I bank in the salary credit amount and will need to ring into the branch to get the 100 incentive.
