Apple iPad 3G MicroSIM providers

Hi folks,

I've just bought an iPad 3G with an O2 1 month rolling contract sim card for a tenner a month on a 30 day rolling contract, but to be honest I'd rather a sim that has prepaid bandwidth on demand, rather than a continual rolling contract which I'll have to remember to cancel/activate on demand. Those in the know will realise that the iPad's use MicroSIM cards and not regular SIM cards which is an added complication.

Any recommendations?

Tony

3 Business do Broadband Casual thats not advertised but at £1 a MB that maybe more than not worth it depending on usage pattern/s.

I have one from 2007 & got offered another recently.
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me

Are you sure thats correct as sim only data contracts are £5 for 500mb £10 for 2gig and £20 for 10gig with my provider, that one works out ay £500 for the £10 contract, meaning contract is cheaper. In fact looking at my ipad useage contract is cheaper.

  • Solved it. I had a PAYG Vodafone Mobile Broadband SIM card in a dongle gathering dust in a drawer, I cut it down to MicroSIM size (a couple of websites give guidance on doing this) and whola. Stuck it in the iPad, changed the apn settings, added a tenners credit and it works a treat.

    will that really work?
  • Using it as I type. Its a case of cutting a piece of plastic with scissors following some pretty basic instructions, its very straightforward.
