    I agree its a nice bit of kit but you prehaps missed where the OP said they're looking for the cheapest reasonable option...for that money you can get a decent second hand digital compact and housing with lens kits!!

    I saw a great new (to me :)) underwater camera at the weekend. It's encorporated into the mask! The lens is between and just above the eyes. I think it was good for 40m, which is way more than required by the average sport diver.

    The cheapest 'proper' digital camera that has underwater capabilities is the Fuji Z33WP. User reviews seem a bit mixed but at just under £90 for a waterproof camera doesn't sound too bad.

    Available in different colours!

    If its the one I'm thinking of it was launched last summer mainly on 'gadget' websites, we tested one for the distributor at work and were seriously unimpressed - the quality of the images was worse than the average 1mp old digi (despite the claims of the technology) and the camera mounting was uncomfortable and restrictive. Don't think I've ever seen a diver actually using one since we did the test.
