Can anyone recommend car hire for Kefalonia?

Options
Hi all.My girlfriend and I are off to Kefalonia in 3 weeks and are looking to hire a car. We're looking to spend around £180 and have found some good deals. But we've been put off by a few negative reviews, especially Easycar and Holiday Autos. Can anyone recommend a good reliable car hire company?

Many thanks.Josh

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

We normaly use carrentals.co.uk for comparisons which is a comparison site, think its one of the biggest in the Uk.

There is also this Greek company in Kefalonia who are quite cheap - you can find their rates below:

    www.car-hire-kefalonia.com/Crates.aspx

They seem to have cars for roughly the price you were looking for and as they ar a local firm they may be ideal:)

We go to Kefalonia a fair bit, if you want any more info on the island we find Kefalonia holidays are quite good as an information site for late deals etc...

Thanks for the tips everyone.I was wondering if anyone knew the fuel policy in Greece?I think you get a full tank when you pick the car up and gave to bring it back full. But do you have to pay for the full tank on your arrival?

Usually there are a couple of options regarding fuel. Either pick up with a full tank and return it the same or pickup full and return it empty.

In the second case you would be charged for a tank of fuel. I guess some people prefer this as it saves having to find a petrol station close to the return point. You might pay for a quarter of a tank or so which is unused however its considered easier.

No doubt the car hire companies that operate this policy rely on the above to generate a few extra Euro's .... !!

I've just been quoted £304 to hire a car for 10 days strating 15th August in Kefalonia, the company is Pefanis Travel and were recommended by the guy the owns our hotel. I've looked round and car hire in Kefalonia is really expensive, anyone have any ideas to beat that? What pees me off is the huge queues at airporst as people line up to collect their cars so anything that would lesson that as well,
    thanks

This was for a ford focus by the way
