Buying a House But NO NI Number!! - HELP please advise

:eek:Hi I am buying a house below are the details and how far I have got..
I am Polish and have been working in the Uk for the last 2 years (20 months in current job) and have been paying NI and tax through my employer which is a reasonably large company.
I have obtained a mortgage and have put an offer in on a house that has been accepted and I have the mortgage offer through from the bank that has been passed onto the solicitor and I was hoping to complete in the next 2 weeks.
BUT.. The solicitor has just asked for my NI number of which I am finding it hard to find (ofcourse they are off on holiday now for 2 weeks so cant even speak to them in more detail about it), I dont remember actually being given any documents to sign for a NI number at work but remember I once tried to find some info out about my NI and was told I had the wrong number and the lady literrally hung up on me.. and sadly i kind of left it for a bit.. (possibly too long).. I have checked all my payslips and there is no NI number on them either!!..
Question is.. If for arguments sake if I 100% need a NI number can i use a temporary one to buy the house while I wait for the permanent one? as a full NI number can take 12 weeks to come through and I cant put off the sellers for 12 weeks and will then loose the house!!..
Can anyone shed some light on this??.. is there a way around it until my Full NI comes through.. I will ring the DWP tomorrow and book an interview.. but still this process can take 12 weeks..
Stressed any advice would be appreciated, Is there way around this??.. I can proove who I am with passports etc..

You need to speak with your conveyancing solicitor to find out if there is an alternative.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

does anyone know if there could be an alternative?0

If you are not paying emergency tax rates then you should have an ni number and your payroll people should know it.0

Have you called HMRC?0
-
and have been paying NI and tax through my employer
Is it possible your employer has been taking your NI contributions out of your pay and not passing it to the government!!!??
Try asking National Insurance enquiries.0 -

Just make it up - I would. Solicitor's don't have any way of checking whether they're legit or not anyway.0

Your NI number should be on your payslips and P60 (end of year tax summary) etc. It will also be on any letters you have from the Jobcentre, Tax office, or social security benefits.
Do you have any evidence of your Polish equivalent of an NI number?A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
