vista back to xp,help.

i installed vista 2 days ago+i dont like it.
how do i go about reinstalling xp?
do i have to uninstall vista first?
also i forgot to write down my 25 digit key code for xp(no sticker either),is there anyway i can get to it on my pc?

Have you got a Windows XP installation disc?

If you still have a copy of your XP installation (e.g. on a backup partition) then something like Belarc Advisor or the Magic Jelly Bean Finder may get your XP key back.

If you did a clean install of Vista (i.e. formatting the hard disk) and you have no other record, it is gone for good.

yes i have xp disk.
ive done belarc advisor+jelly bean,they only bring up key for vista.

So is it a custom built PC or a known brand name? If known brand name there would be some branding on the front and back of the tower or top and bottom of the laptop.

ive had it 2days+its doing my nut in,seems a lot slower than good old xp

most vista annoyances are tweakable, maybe you don't have enough ram, a new install shouldn't be slow
