Grrrrr Orange!

Hi

I have been with orange for about 16 months. I took out an iPhone contract last Thursday (10th), £35 a month, 600 mins, unlimited txt and internet. Brilliant...

However, the town I live in has awful Orange signal at the moment due to a mast issue. When I bought the phone (over the phone) I was told that the signal issue would be sorted soon - so I went ahead with the contract.

I have barely been able to use my phone. I have tried to make calls but I get cut off after about a minute. My texts take ages to get through and ages to be received by myself, and I can hardly use the internet at al - so my iPhone is pretty useless!

I called Orange last week who said that it would all be sorted this Monday 14th - well it hasn't! However, they gave me £30 of my next month line rental.

I called again today - apparently it is now Friday, but it could be longer.

I don't know what to do.... I could give up and send back the phone now - I am well within my 7 day rights. However, I have bought accessories, spent money on Apps etc... and I love my phone!

What would my rights be if I still had no signal in a few weeks?

TIA

Amy :)

Put it in writing to them that you have been promised resolution by Friday, within your cancellation period (I assume that it is). Tell them that you will only keep the contract on that basis and then stick to it.

If they write back saying it's free till we fix it (as you have effectively got with the £30) then possibly stick with it and use your land line at home!

Did the problems only start when you got your iPhone? Or was it ongoing before you upgraded?
