A LOT of people have already been put off teh OS3, and switched to the 360, especially seeming as games are finally getting a lot better, and deals are better, Amped 3 for £19.99 NEW, and Perfect Dark, £29.99 new, its cheaper than the ps3's expected costs, I think Microsoft must be having a party from this free wave of interest for thier consoles, definatly leading the market currently!

Actually if you look back a year or so its was Sony and the Playstation that were considered the dominant force in the market. The PS3 was keenly awaited and was expected to trounce the Xbox. But now we have more details and more importantly the price. I was thinking of getting one at launch...but now I won't touch it with a 10 mile barge pole.

Xbox 360...possibly. Wii...possibly. PS3.....no chance.

If you really want a PS3 for cheap then find out when it will be released in Dixons/Currys. Book a cheapest flight to anywhere, day trip would do and book as far in advance as possible.
Go to Dixons tax-free website as sometime they have vouchers for more money off.
Some airport Dixons these days offer duty free prices wherever you are flying even if it is in the EU.
Buy a PS3 taxfree at the airport.

I think Sony have missed their market here. The market is kids pestering their mum/dad's enough to make them buy them one. Whilst a lot of parents, esp. affluent ones may stretch to £200-£250 at xmas for a console, I can't see many saying to their child "Yep, no probs I'll spend £450 for a console. Whats that? Another £60 per game? Of course darling!"

Yes the graphics will be good but its just a games console at the end of the day. Sure there's going to be rich parents who will buy it and of course geeks like me who earn our own money so we don't have to persuade our parents! But thats only a small market. I don't think I could persuade my mother to get me one now! And I'd just laugh if my kids asked me for one!

I just say this to the parents :

"Which would you prefer? A ps3 with 5 games, or a car?" Most often, they say the car.. "The cars the cheaper option"

as a parent of a teenager who did the whole PSP thing last year and then ended up with 2!, I will not be getting a PS3 for xmas. will stick with PS2 &PSP for now.
from what I read on a Technology site the other day, they are not even in full production yet. so even if you are rich/daft enough to want one before xmas,chances are you wont be able get one anyway.
although do have to admit, we probably will get one at some point. Sony rules in our house, other consoles not cool enough(according to son) as only Sony will do, no point spending out on other consoles will save the pennies instead.

How/Why did he end up with 2 PSPs?
Sony do make a good console but for that money I wouldn't bother. I'm sure that the pester power of a teenager is less that that of a younger child, as it can be explained that it's too much money to spend.

Why do people always think nintendo is only making games for kids!:mad: I am 23 and play nintendo games! this is just a fanboy image of Nintendo, in Japan the average age for a DS gamer is over 40! just because they dont have such Games on there systems like Grand theft Auto or any other 18 rated games doesnt mean the nitendo games are for young kids.

Sony first called Nintendos movement senor control a gimmick that would never do nothing and then a year later the big surprise at E3 was they copied Nintendo and added movement sensor to the control pad. PS3 has just started Production for its world wide launch in about 10 weeks time they will only be making around 2 million for the world wide launch.

let just if sony own Pokemon, Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and other characters that belong to nintendo are you still a fans with nintendo?

Nintendo are target on young gamer and that how they make profits
like Pokemon, Mario, donkey Kong, Kirby, other etc these characters are belong and copyright to nintendo.
Grand theft Auto made for all console -they have notting to do with nintendo.

Nintendo are all about FUN for any ages.

(sega,sony console made cd and dvd game long ago)

why Wii show off placing the console horizontal at gameshow?
(yes the love the ps2 horizontal stand)

How and where did Wii get the ideas design thier game control from?
(sony tv remote controller other DVD player or sega? if you know sega history)

abit about Game history:

PlayStation Magazine shows how the PS3 motion sensing controller is not so revolutionary after all via demoing a Pelican controller created 1999 and the original Warhawk for the PS1
