I do hope we're not going to do the PS3 vs Xbox 360 vs Wii for the next six months. How can you go on about how good or bad the thing is when nobody has one?

Hello PS3 Fanboys! It's always the same, Sony say it will happen and many believe and many will be let down. (PS2 and PSP anyone?)

The reality is that PS3 and Xbox360 games will look pretty similar for generic titles - that is titles which will appear on both formats as developers are not going to spend huge amounts of money customising titles to make the best of individual titles. Where the PS3 will excel is in titles produced solely for the PS3, the same as the 360 will benefit from titles solely for the 360.

I own all of the consoles available at the moment, from Sony, MS and Nintendo but must say that I am looking forward to the WII far more that the PS3. The 360 is fantastic and XBL arcade is brilliant in practice, Sony really need to pull the stops out to better it!

I'm not anti-Sony, I just don't want a lot of people to be disappointed when they buy a PS3 at first. First generation games are usually poor and anyone rushing out to buy they PS3 may end up with inferior games to those of the later generation 360 titles.

It really is a case of wait and see...

Honesty Wii going selling best console of this year reason's it damn cheap price and new style of game play and if you know nintendo are focus making game for young age player's.

but keep in mind the PS3 are aim for Real Gamer who Love Graphic, Power and Performance. Sony are give us the best realistic gamer to a brand new levels. Yes it very very expensive which i hated about it more like if you was going buy a new PC or a Laptop.

if you going to talk about console lifespan PS3 going be the best selling console over few year and keep you entertainment. (if the price drop)


personally i can see my self getting very bored playing Wii after having the fun, it more like playing with your PS2 with eyetoy while you holding your tv remote controller

that not going to stop me buying Wii reason it cheap and everyone should have one even if you got a PS3.

The price is ridiculous in this country. You can get a US version for almost half the price. Wait until companies like sony stop taking us for mugs over here

Why do people always think nintendo is only making games for kids!:mad: I am 23 and play nintendo games! this is just a fanboy image of Nintendo, in Japan the average age for a DS gamer is over 40! just because they dont have such Games on there systems like Grand theft Auto or any other 18 rated games doesnt mean the nitendo games are for young kids.

I for one will be Buying the Wii before the Xbox 360 and i dont think I will even look at getting the PS3 until it drops its price a couple of times. Sony first called Nintendos movement senor control a gimmick that would never do nothing and then a year later the big surprise at E3 was they copied Nintendo and added movement sensor to the control pad. PS3 has just started Production for its world wide launch in about 10 weeks time they will only be making around 2 million for the world wide launch.

I too will be waiting for the wii. Nintendo games tend to be based on gameplay rather than excellent graphics, etc. Mario on the DS is excellent! And addictive. And Im 29! Love the game

£600 odd for a console and 1 game is ridiculous. But as you say they are only releasing 2 million and these will go for a lot on ebay I bet. There are people that dont care about cost out there and just want the latest gadgets! Still time will tell...

Exactly. Right now it's all big talk from Sony. Remember the "Emotion Engine" that could threaten World peace if it was allowed to be sold in Iraq? Sony is good at one thing, lying, and they've already done so with the PS3.
Everyone will own a PS3 eventually but sadly most of those who will buy it will be because of all the hype that Sony has created. Blu-Ray or not, your eyes won't tell the difference.

Funny... Sony themselves have said they won't let anywhere pre-order as they're having major production faults and are majorly behind - one of thier original controllers melted partially in the testers hands! MAJOR faults - every 10 chips they make for the core, only 2 are powerful enough to work without breaking. That and the fact LOADS of game producers have pulled out, THQ and EA are majorly unsure about the console as well, because of the sheer expense and trouble its creating.

Games are £60 to £90 a game, and coded, so once put into a machine, no returns, no exchanges, no trading in, once bought, its yours for good, Sony dont like Game and Gamestation earning profits on trade ins, they want max profits, considering the size of the loan they took out for the PS3, lets hope the pink PSP and PS2 sells reasonably well, or the're in trouble.


The PS3 will be a powerful machine, i'm looking forward to the launch, but i'm not buying it, getting the Wii instead, its a fitness pass, and a gaming console, for little money!

I find this talk about Sony being the 'big bad wolf' quite amusing when considered in the context of Microsoft's dominant market position.

If a vendor were ever to be considered predatory and determined to dominate, it's Microsoft. How many PC's leave the factory without a Microsoft operating system, brower and media player installed ?

Next stop the consumer music market. Apple have had it too good for too long, so Microsoft are going to try and spoil their party with the Zune.

Sony are not all good, but I would never cast them in the same role as Microsoft.

This is not simply conjecture, but the experience of an IT professional who has been dealing with Microsoft on a daily basis for almost 25 years.
