Car repair quote

I got the belt done on the Fiesta for £25 but they didn't replace any pulleys just the aux belt.

£180 sounds ok for the cambelt but the other belt is a rip off.

What engine do you have? If its a K series and its got 85k on it I would be concerned about spending all this money only to find the head gasket goes a week later.

2001 1.8tdi fiesta.
new timing belt and water pump.
£414 !!!!
makes me mad. my own fault for not getting quotes

when you all renew your insurance you shop around trying to get the best quote. When your looking to buy an appliance you look around for the cheapest one. If you arent too confident on garage prices for jobs shop about 3 or 4 quotes should enable you to know whats the best deal.

What IS the recommended interval between cambelt changes on a K series 1.6 to avoid the head gasket problems? I am looking at a couple of offers of LHD R25 and R200 around ten years old and 70000 - 85000 kilometres and nonbe seem to have had a new cambelt.

you are aware that theres 2 belts to change on the derv fez? the injector and cam belts..

but that does sound expensive
