I received an email just now saying I'd be getting an upright fridge-freezer soon, which is great - except I'd applied and previously been told I'd get the upright freezer.
I called them up and apparently the email is incorrect, I'll still be getting a freezer, but it might be six more months.
It was supposed to be arriving next month, not sure our current one will last that long!
mine was same i was told it was a freezer then the email says fridge freezer but im happy with either one to be honest , again mine is supposed to be next month hope its not 6 months xxwins :- x2 hair dyes ,mascara, epilator, personalised card , glass photo ,comp angels please throw some luck my way:j:D:A:)

just got Email, my fridge freezer is on its way, just waiting for delivery date. Yippeeeee.
Big thank you to all your team0 -
I got an email yesterday saying I was getting one, and then I get another today apologising, and that I am still on the reserve list. It didn't actually say if the email was sent in error or anything. To be honest it's what I come to expect from a company which shocking customer service.0

So you also turn your freezer off at night?
Please don't be so silly!
You cannot turn a freezer off at night. There is no point in having one. There is no need to leave broadband on all night though. Everything bar our freezer and alarm system is turned off at night.
Would you park your car in the garage and leave its engine running all night?
It's about being sensible. Do the things you CAN do!I can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
Got ours 6 weeks ago. After 2 weeks my broadband stopped working. BT said the settings had been changed. Then last week the fridge freezer motor blew up and caught fire. The insurance won't cover the damage to the kitchen as they say it is a non-standard installation. Because the fridge freezer is free I cannot claim under the Sale of Goods Act.0

Thats a bit concerning, did you contact n-power? or pm'd the rep who sometimes comments on here?0

A lot of people leave their routers on 24x7 anyway. I only turn mine off when going on holiday.
Most routers tend to consume barely any electricity - my electricity monitor doesn't even register the difference if I turn it off/on.
It still emits stuff though. I wouldn't want to leave mine on 24/7!
I won't use a mobile phone for that reason. I worry about all the cr*p my kids are having to breathe in day in day out what with lazy people who leave car engines running/drive short journeys and then the copious amount of mobile phone masts. certainly don't want to leave appliances on unnecessarily! Please don't be so silly!

It is probably not a good idea for your children to sleep using the electricity meter as a pillow, those electricity wires have had lots of wire to pick up all sorts of pulses, and deliver them to your home.
It just might not be a good idea for little developing brains to be irradiated by a mobile phone held to the ear, especially in the car.
I would not worry about the emissions from domestic equipment in the home especially if you live in a house.
The bigger masts round your home can be found here, I don't know if it shows all the little repeater stations that might be up a telegraph pole of garage display mast next door.

I turn my freezer off for the evening to make best use of the night time economy 7 electricity. We have got to give those nukes something to do in the early hours!
I cannot comment on Virgin broadband, but ordinary telephone wire routers should be left on. The computer at the exchange constantly monitors the router and will think there are problems if it cannot get a reply; for self protection it will then degrade your data rate across the wires.
If you regularly monitor your line speed with something like "thinkbroadband", which will plot a graph of your results, you will find that the speeds go up and down in steps.
[Is your broadband plugged in to your master socket (as against an extension socket, the master socket is twice as large and has a removable front panel) It should be and if you have extension sockets the central two wires of the 4 should be snipped to stop the whole system picking up radio waves from all the other electrical gubbins in your home(don't do this without further advice if you have anything old or exotic connected to your phone system - such as burglar alarm or a original "daffodil" phone) - there are threads on here that explain the advantages of having the snip].Got ours 6 weeks ago. Did you give the electricity company an opportunity to be sympathetic to your plight, before going public on here?
If not it might have been better tactics to mention that your "friends" on here would be interested to know about the service you got in these circumstances and then reported their reaction;).
I'm sure we all want to know why these super insulated fridges/freezers can go wrong.
Anyone know if they are using "Aerogel" to insulate them?0 -
Has anybody heard of any delivery dates yet for the trial.Phoned indesits helpline but all i get is the answer machine. And say will call you back but never do.0
-
ok so - i got a call from indesit saying 'hey yeah your fridge freezer is ready to order'. i almost said 'what fridge freezer' - then i said 'was this some sort of trial thing i won ages ago' and they said 'i dunno'.
anyway - after some talking and delivery arranging - ive scanned through my emails to find one from 5 months ago. saying yeah we're in. surprise!
what happens next? do we just install the wifi ourselves? does npower follow up with us? what happens? so far its just - here's your fridge freezer - its coming next week. and the girl at indesit had no idea.0
