l*g*d - they look fabulous, where did you source your flowers from? I've always wanted real ones, but the quality of fake flowers has improved so much that I'm wavering!

Thank you, I love them. I got them from ebay here:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-RED-VELVET-ROSESTEM-CORSAGE-WEDDING-FLORIST-CORSAGE-/370383426790?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Crafts_FloralSupplies_SM&hash=item563c9294e6

She also does the cream ones too.

Just to add as well, I got the diamante pins and green buttonhole tape from ebay too - I've estimated the entire costs came in at £70 for bride's bouquet, 3 adult bms bouquets, 1 flowergirl bouquet, 3 single buttonholes and 1 double buttonhole.

Loved l*g*d's picture, they look v.nice.
I dont like cheap fake flowers, they look and feel rubbish. I think restaurants look nice with real flowers but I suppose it may cause problems if some are allergic.
They are easy to keep etc but I guess really nice looking artificial flowers may be expensive?
It is what it is :wall:

Leaning towards the idea of artifical flowers..
    a) because they are cheaper
    b) keep them forever
    c) no hassle of them being late in the morning
what do you all think, have you had them yourself and if so do they look real?
    Thanks in advance :)

My daughter has gone for artificial flowers even though she's being married in a garden as the wedding is abroad and she is having a uk reception and wants to have the whole 'look' there as well.
We ordered from ebay and the the flowers are gorgeous!
here's the thread about them, scroll down to see the pics!
  • I've got foam roses from Kayloublue on ebay, and overall I'm quite impressed. I was a little bit disappointed when they first arrived, as there were some wisps of glue from the glue gun here and there and the finish wasn't as perfect as I thought it would be, but I'm VERY picky... and I'm over it now! And after seeing less than perfect real blooms at weddings, I'm very happy with my choice - no wilting or going brown from lack of water, and they were so cheap, I won't be scared to put them down and risk squishing them!
I paid less than £150 for a small bridal bouquet and 5 bridesmaids, plus 12 buttonholes and 2 corsages :D
  • The artificial flowers for my wedding (which is in October) arrived last week and I am so excited about them!!! We opted for artificial flowers as various family members have allergies, but the fact that they're cheaper than fresh flowers and we can keep them forever are bonuses.

Our flowers are from www.sarahsflowers.co.uk - I chose some basic styles that I liked from the website and then called them to have them customised to my colour scheme. I'd previously ordered a couple of samples from them to check the quality, which only cost a few quid and were totally worth it to be sure I'd picked the right flowers for what I wanted. There are lots of other sites and companies that do artificial flowers - google is your friend!

Can I post photos on here? If so I'd be happy to put some pics of mine up for you to see, or you can pm me your email address and I'll email the pics over.

Rest assured, there are plenty of good quality articifial flowers out there that look very real, but I would suggest checking a sample beforehand if you can, to be sure that you're happy with the quality. :)

Has anyone thought about using wooden flowers? We all worry so much about fake flowers not looking fake and cheap, but in a candle shop today I saw a lovely display of wooden roses around a candle holder, they looked obviously fake but really stylish, and not like we couldnt afford real ones IYSWIM!

Thank you! From what I hear Sarah's Flowers are really good, and will make bespoke orders. They also sell individual samples of their flowers. Hope you find something you like!

Hey, we are having a mixture of artificial and real flowers. For my flowers, bridesmaids, top table and button holes we are having realy floers because i love the look and smell of real flowers, and because i am having a flowing waterfall style bouqet.. but for the wedding breakfast table centre piece flowers we are going artifical..mainly because to do what i wanted with real flowers would have been way too expensive..and also because i wanted the table flowers to match the colour scheme of black and ivory..and you don't get black real flowers! So went on a trip to country baskets and got exactly what i wanted..

its pretty much up to you and what look you want to go for. But decent artificial flowers can look very nice indeed!
Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage!
