Leaning towards the idea of artifical flowers..
a) because they are cheaper
b) keep them forever
c) no hassle of them being late in the morning
what do you all think, have you had them yourself and if so do they look real?
Thanks in advance

personally I love fresh flowers at a wedding, in my opinion they look much more classy. Having said that I do appreciate the benefits of silk.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I think that there are varying qualities of artificial flowers....
Some are good, some are cheap and look it.
If you want artificial flowers, have them...but don't necessarily go for the cheapest. Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! Yey!! YIPPEE!!0 -
I wanted artificial flowers for my wedding as we are getting married in July in wales but having the reception in scotland 2 weeks later so both families and friends can be part of the day and i wanted to try and have a welsh and scottish theme so tried to get daffodils and thistles but found all my local florists so unhelpful and rude so tried ebay but they didnt look right and ended up getting wooden roses, sounds awful, but they are absolutely stunning and everyone i have shown them too has commented on how gorgeous they look and when the wedding is over means i can put them in a vase and keep them.0

we are having silk after searching for hours online for hot pink gerberas (the right shape as most i came across were pointy petals!) i found them they are £1.50 each but there easy to use as there bendy want to keep them forever-hate the thought of spending loads of flowers for one day -just like the dress lol- so im using them fr button holes, cnetrepieces, cakes, bouquets etc they are also fresh touch and look very realMarrying the love of my life May19th 2012

I am having silk flowers because I have very bad hayfever and I have seen other weddings with silk flowers and they have looked really good I think you just need to be picky don't go for the cheapest because they will probably look very plasticy and fake.Getting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!
2010 wins: approx £2198
2011 wins value so far: approx £650

I'm having them. I would rather have fresh ones but I can't afford them. I'm sticking with foam roses because they are the only ones that I think look real enough. I think the silk (cloth) ones always look really obviously fake (unless you get really good ones, which end up working out the same price as fresh ones), but foam ones look more convincing. You can get other flowers in foam, but apart from the calla lillies (which I don't like), I find foam roses are the best looking artificial flowers.“Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”― Shel Silverstein0

I have artificial ones! I originally chose them because I wanted Tulips in August, which is a no no. Lol.
I ended up sourcing mine myself and my mother in law is making them into bouquets
Some silk ones look amazing, if you get good quality. I have heard good things about Sarah's flowers plus there are a few sellers on Ebay that get great reviews.
I would ask for a single sample flower before you order from somewhere. As you want them to look great in photos, but you also want them to look good in the fleshGreen and White Barmy Army!0 -
Having to cut right down, I'm now going to make mine and my daughter's bouquets myself, with real flowers.
Gonna have a test run in a couple of weeks, but it will be something for just me and her (she's my only bridesmaid) to do the night before the wedding!
With my calculations, it won't cost more than £20 for the 2 of them.
Artificial flowers are not far off the cost of real flowers I've found! I do like foam and real touch artifical flowers over silk ones.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I've made my own with some velvet roses I bought off ebay. If you are going with artificial I would make sure you get a sample flower first, the quality varies so much! Here's what I've made:0

l*g*d - they look fabulous, where did you source your flowers from? I've always wanted real ones, but the quality of fake flowers has improved so much that I'm wavering!0
