PPI Reclaim Cover Letter- any comments please

Today I received a letter from my bank regarding the PPI complaint I filed with them sometime in August, received it right on the dot of the 8 week deadline. It states that they are not yet in the position to provide a full response. I think they are having a very difficult time to get out of this one because I've got a very good grounds such as I was a contract worker. They also mentioned that they are hoping to provide me that response by 10th of November.
They have also enclosed an FOS brochure saying that they hope that I would still allow them the opportunity to carry on with their investigation, however, if I am not happy with the progress made, I can now complain to the FOS.
My concern is, should I wait for them considering that there is a deadline for PPI complaints on the 27th of October? Or should I now go directly to the FOS?
Thank you all for taking time in reading my post.0 -
Hiya Bei.
I believe once a refund complaint have been settled, then they see it that you have accepted, so your not able to actually make a complaint based on that matter.
So if your happy continue to accept, or otherwise complain to the FOS instead, you can of course wait for other opinions on this first if you want to.;)
I did not accept di, they were offering me a £600 refund on the £4500 worth of PPI. Apart from that, it did not made any difference to the main loan should I cancel.0 -

Hiya
I don't blame you for not accepting that offer for the difference it is.
Please remind us, what bank is this now?
You may be aware that most of the banks have frozen cases, although it should have only have been new cases, it seems they are also including previous cases as well, but its best to check with the bank first direct if you can.
There is more about this on various threads on here.
However, its been said that people must carry on with their complaints as normal and if they hear nothing after 8 weeks is to complain to the FOS.
I do understand yours is an ongoing case though, so now its your opportunity to either see what they have to say on your reclaim consideration or moving it straight on to the FOS.
What you could do, is contact the FOS on Monday, explain your current issues and ask them of your best opportunity with this, as you've already had an offer but not accepting and requesting for another.
Please keep us posted Bei, that would be good, cheers xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Its with HSBC di. I have 3 complaints with them. The first complain that I filed with them is my current loan. I recently asked the PPI to be removed, and they will partly refund the premium, they then rejected my claim afterwards. The other 2 complaints is already settled but they have said they aim to give me their full response by 10th of November. It has been over 8 weeks for all 3. I will take your advice di and asked the FOS first thing on monday. Thanks again!!! Kind regards :A0
