A friend wants to change to a higher plan as the 4 for 1 texts suit thier needs, o2 is refusing to give them info for the 24 plans from May 2009 that are part of the contract to move up at any point and down from month 9.

Thier contract is not for the 2010 plans but the 2009 & they were informed they could move up/down the plans as required EVEN after the 2010 change this year.

NOW o2 are refusing to even give the plan details.

Anyone enlighten me on the 24 month 2009 plans ?

o2 are trying to get them to agree to ALL the new terms for new customers to change !

"3 Once you have used all your inclusive allowances, any calls made in the UK to numbers which would previously have been included will be charged at 20p per minute. For customers connecting as of 26 February 2010, a minimum call charge of 10p will apply to the calls described in this point 3"

"Inclusive Messages and Message Charges
Inclusive messages on O2 Pay Monthly tariffs (including iPhone tariffs) can be used for unlimited:
texts sent in the UK to UK mobiles,
(for 2009 Pay Monthly tariffs only and not 2010 tariffs), texts sent from abroad (including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Mann),from your mobile phone for private, personal and non-commercial purposes."

In the first place they were sold a o2 contract as the inclusive "unlimited texts" from abroad is why they bought the contract, o2 then said a month later it did not include UNLIMITED texts, they have alreadt paid £15 a month for a year for NOTHING but the sim to be back in the UK, now o2 are getting/being even more a pain !

I wish I could understand what the question is

O2 used to have a finite text bundle, and now on current deals it's unlimited. The unlimited bundle does not include use to UK mobiles from abroad. I think we're together on that point, or maybe not given your one assertion that unlimited also includes from abroad

So you want to move to a different tariff, but not a new one, a superseded one, is that what the issue is, or is it that O2 have altered what is on the contract anyway, and you want to go back to how it started?

If the SIM is abroad all the time, I can't see the point of a contract anyway, so the last paragraph is beyond me

From within the EU, texts are 11 pence each, which is hardly a disaster unless you're sending lots. Otherwise, look at Fishtext for a couple of pence each plus very modest data cost

    Thanks for replying :)

My friends friend wants to move to a higher tariff on old plans as the contract was the ability to move up them now DISCONTINUED TO NEW CUSTOMERS plans over the 24 month contract period, o2 are refusing, even though this is the plan/s agreed to within the 24 month period.

These should still be available for current customers of these old plans, the newer plans are for customers joining after the plan change or those who want to move from old to new.

o2 will not move them except to NEW plans which are to the customers detriment, invalidating the contract, these plans can be moved to but not set up/added on NEW accounts - this was confirmed in Feb by o2 to the account holder.

I think its time for a Ofcom complaint, but I thought I would ask here first.
