I have an abbey Credit card, and as people may know
they were bought by Santander. I have tried various numbers to establish an address to write to regarding PPI, one person says ring 08458444666 who say I should ring 08458444666 who refer me back to the first.
Abbey it appears used to do the insurance then Santander took over but dont handle PPI, Aviva do.
The address I have been given is Santander, PO Box 5873, Milton Keynes MK10 1ER does anyone know if this is correct?

Can you give the exact name of the company on your documents and we can check the registers for you.0 -
Don't know if this helps but you really need an exact address and anything else you can pick up from documents and we can find where exactly to send this to.

Are you sure it is MPPI and not life assurance or income protection? Aviva did underwrite a few MPPI plans but by far they are more known for life assurance and many of the plans they underwrote were white labelled (the distributors name - often a bank - would be used on the product).
You do not complain to the insurer. You complain to the broker or seller. However, its pre-regulation so if it is a broker then it will be an easy rejection (irrespective of your reason).
Who sold it to you and why was it mis-sold in your opinion (noting that MPPI doesnt get as many upheld complaints as the other types of PPI).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

We are claiming from CGU (apparantly part of Abbey and underwriters for a Freedom Finance loan) we approached FOS and they gave us the address below. I am not sure if this is relevant to yours hope it is
CGU UNDERWRITING LTD
ABBEY NATIONAL PLC
PO BOX 5129
MILTON KEYNES
MK9 2YN
Although we haven't had a response our post office tracking shows that the letter has been delivered. You could always ask them to forward to the correct department if its not their query?0 -

Hi there thanks for the advice it was origionaly from General Accident called protect direct a mortgage repayment protection policy, it then went to CGU insurance and then Norwich Union. When we took out the mortgage we were advised by GE at the time that we needed this product there was no way out of it. Do you think I would be able to make a claim? Thanks:A0 -

If you have a complaint you can make it. However, with mortgages, the complaint upheld ratio is far lower. Typically, success is where the insurance is single premium, you are not eligible or have no financial need or its one of the banks that is auto upholding complaints currently. Mortgage insurance is seen to be required by most people. So, unlike loan and credit card with its near 90% uphold rate, MPPI is half that.
The product name could indicate life assurance or ASU. So, its still not clear what it covers. This will be important if you complain about it being one thing but it actually turns out it is the other.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I am very confused by the whole PPi think. I had a mortgage in 2004 with Abbey and then in 2009 with Coventry. I could possibly find some details of account no etc but I now don't know where to go from there. Can i reclaim PPi? My partner has had a few loans and again we would like to reclaim but don't know where to start.
What about store cards? Can you reclaim from them?
I'v had a current account that had thousands of charges, is it possible to reclaim them?
What about the HP i had on my car?
Please can someone talk me through a basic, very basic step by step of how to do....please.
Someone please help
