I sold my PS2 and a few games a month ago, all to seperate buyers, with the PS2 going special delivery. All the items, for some reason that only Royal Mail could explain and subsequently sidestep, all of them were delayed, though the PS2 did arrive a few days later. However, before that happened the buyer opened up a dispute, and escalted it into a claim - one that Paypal granted, putting me £95 out of pocket. This followed up with the other buyers, on separate incidents, opening up disputes and ,making a claim (to be fair, it was three weeks and they stil hadn't received it).
For the standard posted ones, I sent off the postal receipt since the buyers didn't request recorded delivery of any sorts - meaning online tracking was not possible. Though I'm prepared to let it slip as the value of the three items were "only" collectively £30, I'm not willing for the PS2 to go, especially since I gave them the damn tracking number.
Just a few days ago I sent off the SD receipt along with the postal receipt for the others - Paypal have replied saying they received the SD one, but want the postal receipt for that too! Really, what is the point of that? I've sent the damn thing, you've proof the thing's been sent - but noooo, paypal still won't give me a refund.
No mention of the other receipt for the standard parcels either. Just wanted to know where I stand on this? Paypal seem to be on some personal crusade to screw me over, no matter what proof I give them. Can I go to a small claims court if need be?

How comes paypal have refunded the buyer in this case without the "evidence" from yourself? Sounds strange to me.
Meanwhile its strange you actually sent PayPal the actuall SD slip with your tracking number on it. What does the RM site say when the tracking number is entered??
If its not delivered you could claim the cost of the item through Royal Mail but for that you would need your SD slip. You should have kept the orignal SD slip i feel and faxed a copy to PayPal which they allow as that is in your best intrests.
Also taking PayPal to a small claims court would hardly be worth the effort and i doubt they would even bother to turn up.0 -
The buyer escalated the claim pretty soon after, that's why. They asked for me to fax it over, but I had no access to a fax machine - so I sent the proof off. Tracking for the SD parcel says it's been signed and delivered - they have no grounds on me on this one, yet they still request more proof (the receipt for the SD receipt, no less!). Surely all they need was proof that the item's been sent and received?
Does it cost anything to make a small claims, and am I in a good position to be successful?0 -
Yes it does cost money to file a claim about 10% I think. This post has been moved so my first reply is not listed but why won't the buyer(s) say they are happy and agree to settle the dispute? All it takes is an email from them.0

In the case of the 3 normal delivery ones, they're still not acknowledging that the items have been received. For the SD he hasn't even replied back to me - obviously content he's got a free PS2 :mad:0

You will see that I have already posted a couple of responses on your other thread on the tech board. However, I cannot understand why paypal are refusing the SD proof that delivery has occured, their own terms and conditions state that proving delivery using special is accepted to stop a chargeback. The only time it would'nt is where it does not track to the address shown on the original paypal payment.

This is the reply I got after they received it:
We have received the tracking information you submitted in reference to the
following complaint:
(blanked out)
Unfortunately, the information you supplied is insufficient for us. We
need you to fax a copy of the postal receipt so we have proof that the
merchandise has been sent to the buyer. This being the case, we are unable
to grant your claim appeal at this time.
You can appeal our decision only by faxing the postal receipt.
The documents should be faxed to PayPal at 08707 303 196. Please include a
cover sheet with your fax that includes the email address registered on
your PayPal account and the ID number of the claim PP-187-236-688 so we may
attach the document to the claim as quickly as possible.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
Yours Sincerely,
Kristin

So have you faxed them a copy of the silver Special delivery slip, as I think they are asking for that in a roundabout way.
They need it to check that the tracking number matches the address shown on the SD slip which in turn matches the address of the buyer.

I think the OP has already posted the SD slip to PayPal, which does seem a little odd.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Woohoo! I'm normal! Gotta go tell the cat.0 -
yes, I sent it off to them as explained in the OP. Everything matches - the address was written on the slip, matches the one on the buyer paypal account etc. Basically it should be a shut case, but paypal are stalling.
I'd also like to point out that the way of contacting them is laid out in the most user unfriendly way possible. Instead of allowing me to reply to a coversation, I am forced to recap on the points mentioned in a previous reply just to prevent them from giving the bog standard reply over and over again.
UPDATE: One of the buyers has got back to me, says she did get her item and will email paypal. Woo, £8 back!!

Well, that's a start. I think it is well worth emailing them because they may have forgotten all about it. I have great faith in human nature and I think most people are honest with just a sprinkling of rogues.0
