SAMSUNG TV switches itself off and then on again

hello, a quick update on this.
I contacted Samsung head office via email to complain. I got a response within a few days and then a phone call from a tv repair company to make an appointment with me.
The engineer has just been and he confirmed samsung are paying for any parts and labour and it is more than likely a power supply unit problem. He is going to order another power supply board and replace the whole thing when it arrives.
Very happy with the fact samsung are helping out and that things are under way,
thanks for all your advice and help.I will update further if there are any developments.0 -
Hello, anyone with this same problem...I got it fixed and so far have had no problems. When the engineer came and ordered the replacement part it was different enough for him to comment on it and say that it was probably a known issue and had been updated accordingly.
The tv is great now. I emailed specific heads of departments rather than the 'support' team. I can find the email addresses I used if anyone requests them from me on here.

I have been having a simmilar problem with my samsung tv picture going off, than coming back on again a few seconds later (the tv does not actually power down)
i have traced it to my central heating pump/thermostat.
I am going to try putting ferrites on the hdmi cables, and installing a supressor across the thermostat contacts to stop the spikes.0 -
