Slow puncture caused by the garage

Hello guys, looking for some advice.

Following an MOT I bought three new tyres from a garage (not the place that did the MOT). In buying the tyres they took the remaining old tyre from rear driver's side and placed it at the front driver's side. That tyre now has a slow puncture - the car was left ideal after the changes.

Obviously I'm not happy because up until that point when the tyre was on the back of the car it did at least 20,000 miles without any problems. So for me it's clear that the cause of the puncture is the garage moving the tyre. I have spoken to them on the telephone and they are arguing that it could have been caused anywhere and that if they have to repair it they will charge for it.

I'm going to take the car in on Friday, any advice in terms of rights or the mechanics?

    Thanks!

Insp-ite of what earlier posters have said, the most likely issue is that the tyre has not sat correctly on the rim, or that the new valve, which the gargae should have changed, is duff.

Take it back, if it's a puncture it's your problem. anything else kick !!!. BTW, ant shop that has sold you 3 tyres should be obliging.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Well the OP states the tyre was moved so I assumed removing from one wheel and fitting to another.

Well, it would explain the tyre garages attitude.

Explain how the goalposts have been moved? Assuming fitting was done, who did it if it wasn't the garage?!

How do you know the tyre was fitted by the garage!

Irrespective of this, the OP complained the garage had punctured the tyre!

You changed the goalposts by saying it's a flat caused by faulty fitting rather than the puncture the OP is on about.

    OP

If they removed the tyre from the rear wheel and refitted it to a front wheel and it’s leaking from the rim/tyre joint (or valve if that was renewed too) then you are in with a chance of a free repair

If (as is more likely) they moved the wheel & tyre from the back to the front and/or there is a nail in it then you will have to pay

Why would the garage change the tyre to a different rim??

Trying to decide if OP is for real.

I doubt they would have too. They'd have moved the whole wheel as that costs nothing whereas removing a tyre from a rim can damage it. Every time I've wanted a tyre relocated to another corner of the car they've unbolted the wheel and popped it where I wanted it.

If they swopped the tyre on to another rim it could well be that it isnt sealed properly maybe rust on a steel rim or flaky alloy on an alloy rim.

If they didnt swop tyre over (dont see why they should have) then forget it

Am I being female here, isn't it more advisable to have the new tyres on the front as opposed to the old one? Or is that dependent on the type of car?

Not that it helps the OP any but would help my curiosity

Who on earth buys 3 new tyres and keeps a tyre that's done 20,000 miles on the other corner?!

The OP isn't a troll, he's an idiot!

Where is the air leaking from?????

    1: valve?
    2: tyre itself?
    3: bead?

until you can answer the above question you can't blame anyone
