One can only hope. This would definitely be the best option, the indoctrination into military life takes a while and is best carried out without a break that early when they are still in the startup phase. He may love every minute of it, but if he doesn't getting a reprieve that early and experiencing normal life again may tip him back towards civilian life.

This is one of the things I worry about, that he comes home at Christmas and does not want to go back

(My mum was ever so pleased) Remind him to keep training in the 10 days off over xmas it is the season for being lazy and i remember people being quite a bit unfitter after coming back from xmas leave - Good Luck to your son - PS Try and get him a decent iron :D X

    Travel iron or proper iron?

I keep reading stuff and some say no iron and others say you def need an iron

The other thing we are worrying about is that he uses a rechargeable toothbrush? is this OK - it need recharging once a week. He has problem teeth so a manual brush would be useful.

(I am taking worrying to a new level!)

Along the same lines does he need a new soap in a plastic soap dish for inspections?

(always uses shower gel never soap)

Anything else he needs for inspections?
