Unfortunately this is one of the pitfalls of selling online, of which I have experienced myself (£40 clothes). Does your listing say returns accepted?

louisdf - look above ^, regardless of what auctions state, returns have to be accepted if paypal tell buyer to return item for refund

Tell him that you marked the discs & if he returns the same ones back you will give him a refund.

& get him to send recorded delivery because if you dont receive them he is not getting a refund.

& tell him he is not getting the cost of postage back.

Wowwww , your'e not by any chance the guy who purchased and now wants to return the games are you? lol.

Earlier on today i told the guy exactly what you have just posted....i told him that my husband has the games "security marked" and that if he felt that we have sold him "rubbish" (as he said to me today in the email he sent) then the best option was for him to return the games to me and when my husband CHECKED them thoroughly to ensure that they were in fact the SAME games which we sold to him , if they turned out to be the same ones , we would gladly offer him a refund.

Strangely enough we have not heard a peep from him since......

Anyhow....technically he IS entitled to a refund so if he chooses to return the games then my husband will check them and if they are the original games then im left with no other choice.

Seems strange though that he has had the games for 9 days now and only got round to checking them today?? First thing id do if i received dvd's/game's/cd's etc from an ebay seller is check them!

Thanks to all who have answered.

If this is the case then WHY do ebay give you the option of selecting "the no refunds option" when listing items?

I think that's more to do with returning items if you just decide you don't want them anymore. But i'm not 100% sure.

Its funny how a scammer will shut their mouths if they think you have outwitted them.

May be its because if they carry on with the scam from this point on they risk criminal stuff....

If he does return them though you will have to refund.

But good idea to get a marker...

I always describe stuff like this as untested in my listings & sold on that basis. It stops this kind of thing because they have never been described as working (although I never sell faulty items).

Thereby reducing the price you receive for the item.
