[QUOTE=empik;374290024. It also explains to some extent why she was so very keen to be with me so soon after the lodger came onto the scene - perhaps because if I slept with her it would give her the excuse she needed to cover her tracks, although this could be mere speculation on my part. Needless to say, I'm taking the future birth date very, very seriously.

Be very very careful placing too much reliance on birth date if you think the 2 relationships were so close together. "normal" pregnancy is between 37-42 weeks, the so-called "due date" is a misnomer, only about 5% of babies are born on it. Unless baby is born less than 35 weeks after you first slept with her (first 2 weeks of pregnancy are actually pre-conception as it's dated with respect to period cycles) without being premature birth date is not really any kind of guide to whether baby is yours or not. You will only know by DNA test.

    Dear empik,

you sound a lovely decent and honourable man(pity you're not in your 50's ;)) , so please look after yourself a bit better in future - get to know your girlfriends first before you sleep with them! There are lots of nutty women out there who go through life extorting money out of one man after another (my poor brother was married to one and trusted her, defended her behaviour to us all, for 20 years and she destroyed him).

Women can usually spot this sort of women quite easily but I think it's more difficult for men.

Good luck, you might have a tough time ahead of you until you can sort it out for good.

shaking my head in disbelief. My ex husband had an affair with a woman who has three children by three fathers and she wasn't his first affair. What gets me is that she was open about this - so yes, I agree, I'm not sure men are very good at spotting this kind of thing! I'm not one for judging but in her case, I have made an exception! Money (my ex, or so she thought, was a successful businessman, child in private school, able to give her a salary and a company car...) was at the root of it and she didn't get what she wanted. Whilst my ex is a very, very stupid man and is still not facing up to his responsibilities at any level, he did eventually see this woman for what she is.

I hope, sincerely, that this child isn't yours. For the child's sake, however, it may well be better if it is. Keep us posted. I am sure that many of us will be interested in the outcome.

The big advantage for the woman concerned under the current system is:

    1. 3 kids by one man = 25% of one salary
    2. 3 kids by three different men = 15% OF three salaries = 45% of a salary and no tax or benefit deductions.
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing

Well, scans are apparently plastered all over her Facebook page (I haven't seen them) so I guess so... nothing like using an unborn child to get a sympathetic reaction.. truly atrocious behaviour
