World Cup Background Noise

Probably the wrong thread but it's the closest I can get to a TV problem.
I've been trying to watch the world cup but am finding the background noise so annoying that I'm turning off matches that I should be enjoying. How do I contact BBC/ITV to express these feelings in the hope that they will alter the sound balance. Surely I'm not the only one to have had their enjoyment compromised?

If I had a radio in the room to which I've been relegated then I might just have done that. I think I'll just have to turn the volume off and watch without commentary. Having said that the half time commentary on the current game(Italy/Paraguay) was much easier on the ear when the sound balance was in favour of the punditsAwaiting a new sig0 -
Further to earlier comments I've now been experimenting with my audio controls on my LG TV. If I set it to Clear Voice it's much better but still seems very disconnected and pulsing. This seems so far likely to completely spoil a world cup that I was looking forward to watching with the time to see as many games as I wanted to(retired)Awaiting a new sig0

You can complain to the BBC all you like, but it's beyond their control. FIFA have already said that they won't ban the vuvuzelas, and it's technically very difficult to tune out those frequencies without affecting the speech as well. They can't completely mute the crowd noise, as there would then be no atmosphere. No free lunch, and no free laptop

FIFA have reportedly made £2M from a licensing deal so they won't ban them.
If I go to a football match no one commentates to me, I understand how the game is played. I just trun down the sound, I don't need a commentary to know ahat is going on.0 -
They talked about this on BBC news this morning.
They said that they could reduce the noise of the horns for tv viewers, but it would cut out a lot of the atmosphere. Plus you'd loose sounds like them kicking the ball or people cheering.
Personally I hate those damn horns!0 -
Hi,
I played around with the sound yesterday after tips from others. Normally if you go in the settings menu and sound settings you can customise the profile.
By putting the 300mhz bar down to zero it softened the background noise quite considerablly whilst not seeming to impact the commentary. Found it much better after that.0 -
Whole ranting thread about the vuvuzula horns on the grabbit board (including a few rants from me) as tesco were handing them out for free.
the first person sat near me to blow one at a game will soon be blowing out of the lower orifice....0 -
If those things came to England, I think id leave lol!!
Apparently BBC are gonna offer a service on the red button getting rid of or at least reducing the noise......am hoping!0
