oranges or are they lemons...

morning!

I've come to the end of my fixed contract with orange, I need to keep my number so looked at just upgrading. However there are lots of 1/2 price line rental deals on the carphonewearhouse that are only available for new customers.

Anyone got a cunning plan how i could get my hands on a better deal and keep my current number?

(I am trying to save money, but I get attracted to new gadgets so any help would be great!)

Cheers

Is it essential you stay with Orange? If not, just port your number to another network and get the benefits of being a new customer when you begin a new contract with them.

If you must stay with Orange you will need to port to PAYG on another network and then back to Orange to get the benefits of being a new customer.

  • Its not essential, but I'm drawn to the half price line rental thing they have got going at the moment.

Is the porting to PAYG easy or would i need to wear a disguise when i go back to get the new orange contract!

Is that through a retailer or direct with Orange? What tariff and handset are you interested in and what is the deal you have been offered?

The process is really simple although I have not tested this personally with Orange, only O2. Some have suggested that you must wait 30 days before porting back to Orange.
