    Sounds like something's blocking attempts to access webpages on port 443. You sure the firewall etc are totally disabled?

    Try this ~

    Click on Start->Run and type (copy/paste) the following commands into it, pressing OK after each one:

    Regsvr32 Initpki.dll
    Regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
    Regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll

    Regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll

    I am by no means a "techie" but I have the paid for version of Malwarebytes and that blocks lots of sites.
