I have just been told i am being made redundant with a low Bradford score of just 36, they looked over a 3 year period to get to this number.Surely this awful formula was never intended for this purpose & is just an abuse of the system, please any advise would be very grateful.

If they are clear about the criteria they are using and apply this equally then I suppose it's up to them.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200

It all boiled down to what pool you were in, i am a lorry driver & was placed in a pool of 15 with 6 jobs available the criteria involved 4 elements with the highest scores being made redundant.
After 3 elements which were driving license lol/disciplinary in last 12 months/plus service with eveybody 10 years & over receiving 0 we were all on 0 which is hardly surprising really.
It all went down to abscence & i got a bradford score of 36 which put me in 6th position, then the night before they handed us the redundancy letters they had reduce the number of jobs down to 4 even though in the previous 2 months of consultation with the unions they had said there would be 6 jobs.0 -
Provided the system is transparent and fair they can use whatever system they like. You do have the right to an appeal0

Sometimes it is written in the contract that they will use the bradford factor in this sort of situation.
It is a horrible system I must admit though.
Hope you come out ok in the end0 -

there has to be a limit of somesort....what would you propose they do differant? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

We had our own historic agreement including our own redundancy criteria, they ignored this & went with there own which as i have explained heavily stacked towards abscence.0 -

I suspect that 3 years is the standard to go back to, only guessing really but it maybe worth looking at.#
I guess over the last two years you are in the top 4 then? The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
