Halifax cash isa 5.7%

Just logged in and been offered 5.7% for up to £3000 of savings, instant access and minimum £1 deposit. Am I missing something? Has anyone else applied?
Thanks!

The product is a Halifax ISA Saver Direct I believe.

I thought this would be one of those 3 year old Lazarus threads icon7.gif

Can't see your interest rate icon9.gif only 0.5%.

    Is there a link?

The best I can see is 3.85% fixed for four years or 2.6% ISA Direct Reward.

Six years ago they were offering a 5 year fixed ISA for 5.7%
I think you just fell through a ripple in time.

It's not one of those ones where you have to put an equivalent amount in their dodgy equities product, is it ?

Interesting, Doctor. Also the ISA allowance would have been £3000 back then, as per OP.

lol no I was definitely on the halifax website as I use first direct internet banking plus to login to everything (and it wouldn't have been a very good phishing attempt as it didn't ask for many personal details). It was under the "offers for you" section after logging in, not on their normal website. I read all the terms and conditions and couldn't see anything untoward. The £3000 limit is odd admittedly.

I've had this reply to my application:
    Dear Mr <Williham>
Thank you for applying for a Fixed Rate Halifax ISA Saver account.

We have received all the information we need to process your application. We will open your Fixed Rate Halifax ISA Saver account and send you confirmation of this and any next steps within the next 14 days.

Please do not attempt to reply to this e-mail as the return e-mail box will not be monitored. If you want to discuss your application further then please call 08457 26 36 46.

Thank you for your interest in saving with the Halifax.

    Yours sincerely

Mine shows 2.60% on up to £5,100. Sounds like a glitch in their system may have shown you an older message - good luck with getting that rate!

Haha looks like I'm gonna need to send a letter of complaint. Wish I'd print screened it now.
