.....and "doing a Greece" would push interest rates over 5%.......repossessions......bankruptcies........

Heads you lose and tails you cannot win.

Oh sh*t nobody said borrowing from the children would create this situation.

How about a nice dose of inflation.........15% interest?..............

Lets try defaulting on the loans?

How about rolling up our sleeves and getting back to being "a nation of shop keepers" and "the workshop of the world"

Oh damn the Chinese thought of that one.

    Double dip or Greece.

Not sure you have made the right choice there.

We are in a far better situation than Greece - poor analogy.

We need a bit of both tbh, and I never thought I would ever type/say this but was kind of refreshing to hear Liam Fox talk about cuts in 'defence'.

They won't save much unless Trident is ditched.

And the NHS should not be ringfenced - doctors have been laughing all the way to the bank under Labour, but now they must feel their packets squeezed. And it's time to start charging for medical apppointments.

Becasue we have decided not to spend money we dont ahve and be slaves to to markets.

If we had gone down the GB(tm) route of spending money we dont have, are you sure people would have lent to us?

If your mate had a 200 quid a day coke habit, would you lend him money?

Question for the Labour trolls (Alan Cross/ Marklv)

At what stage do you think cuts to public spending are necessary? What levels of debt and deficit are unsustainable?

I agree the reason it has come to a head in Greece is that the Greeks had much shorter loans and were thus forced to try and roll over their loans earlier than the rest of the piggs and the UK BUT the numbers involved are chicken feed and uncle Germany has agreed to pick up the tab for the next couple of years.

Where is the UK's rich uncle?
  • A double dip is on the cards with or without additional cuts & tax.

Disagree, but people should be charged for missed appointments.
