So that's 3 months. Is there any reason why you did not file with Paypal in April or May? Normally I'd allow someone 14 days (perhaps 28 at a stretch) but no more. You've not really helped yourself out there - but none the less they *should* refund you and it's wrong and dirty if they have not done so.

How much was the transaction for and what did you order?

Because I kept trying to engage with the company via email to get a refund - they don't have a phone number, and they kept promising they would do it and they didn't.......just pure hope and stupidity on my part I guess, and the time from the transaction to the complaint to Paypal was 8 weeks/2 months. I ordered a camcorder and the ammount to me now is largely irrelevant - it's the principle. And no I did not help myself - but I trusted them to keep their part of the bargin and send me the refund. He even promised me a cheque because he knew the 45 day period had elapsed...but he lied. Thank you for agreeing it was wrong and dirty I didn't get that refund because it was. I hope my card company can now do something. I still live in hope.

Can I ask - and don't be offended - was this offer too good to be true, and did they string you along keeping your hope up the item would appear? It would really help if you would put it on record how much this was - even if it's only a few ££ so other people can be aware of the method of operation.

Granted you probably could have avoided being out of pocket, but any legitimate online retailer should have refunded you without issue. To make matters a bit tricky, they appear to be hosted in the UK but registered in Scotland - under Scottish Law.

Having a further poke and prod this looks more than a bit dodgy. Streetview of the registered address (which I am not allowed to post here) appears to show some local authority flats opposite a car yard, body shop, some run down units and a couple of mobile homes. I'm inclined to think the site may not be what it seems.

It was £85 for a small basic camcorder that I wanted for work stuff. I had looked round at lots of camcorders in various places and they vary a lot in price - and this was niether the cheapest or the most expensive, and as it was for work rather than pleasure I thought it would be an Ok thing for me. So it was a "normal" enought price for the type of basic camcorder I needed for the job. They acknowledged the order then kept me waiting for a while - then told me it wasn't in stock and they couldn't get it for a month or more. I couldn't wait that long as I needed it for work so asked for the refund. I didn't get the camcorder or the refund despite repeated emails to them! The stringing along was done in making me wait for the promised refund. Then no contact from them at all. Thanks for having that look around - I really do know this site is not what it seems because of my experience with them.

Stick their postcode and address into google and take a look at their location with street view. If you don't have their postcode just pop their domain name into a lookup tool like this: http://www.elblowfly.org.uk/cgi-bin/lookup.cgi

The whois data at the bottom has the address you are interested in. The 'Flat4' looks like a coincidence, but given the flats behind it....

If you then put the registrant name into the companies house webcheck, you'll get yet another address:
    http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/7f29ae56d1e5d0c3702b0976e4619124/compdetails
And this link has a couple of phone numbers - may be worth a call?

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I REALLY do hope that others don't end up losing money via these sites no matter what the ammount is - it just doesn't seem fair that people can get away with cheating in this way.......that is what I have great issue with here and that is what I was trying to stop happening to anyone else.:)

    I ordered a watch and a phone from Drumkinnons.co.uk.

Was waiting 1 week, 2 weeks.... over 1 month but the items did not arrive. No REFUND or explanation, they just hope that customers will forget about the order.

This scam web site advertises many bargains, like latest PC for £1.50 and many other non-existent bargains.

Should be closed by Trading Standards.

Why the hell did you go back if you had already been scammed? :wall::wall::wall::wall:

I must confess that crossed my mind... (in words somewhat stronger that those used).

The logical question to now ask the OP would be this; "Has anything you have ever ordered from them arrived?" If not, and you continue to shop with them consider getting yourself a large, indelible marker pen and writing a four letter word on your forehead beginning with C and ending with T so other scammers can pick you out at a distance :rotfl:
